I meant to post this last week but somehow never got around to it. Our second ninety day consultation period has now ended and the good news is that there are going to be no more redundancies in the company for the foreseeable future.
The situation isn’t all rosy – we’re still on reduced pay and the workload isn’t exactly manic – but it is far better than it was before Christmas when this all started. It’s still too early to drag out the green shoots metaphor, but the general upshot is that although turnover is going to be lower this year, it isn’t going to be as low as initially feared.
Part of this is due to new links forged with what we thought was a lost client (it would appear that internal politics within that company was to blame) and an increasing confidence in the position of another major client due to what looks like a partial buy-out by the former owner (surely keen not to see the company he founded go down the pan). We’re concentrating on gaining as many other clients as possible at the moment as we don’t want to be in this situation again, so lots of applications to LA’s at the moment.
Thanks to everyone for keeping fingers, toes etc. crossed with regards this – hopefully I won’t have to ask you to do so again.
