So, having a week off last week I decided to do what any sane person with free time would do and cycle from Stoke to Oxford over a few days in order to see more of the British countryside at a slightly slower pace than normal. One hundred & thirty miles in total over two (long) days, with a break in Birmingham ahead of the second day – I’d been talking about doing something like this for a while so it seemed the ideal opportunity to do so.

Weekend 5-7 December
Busy weekend, I actually feel as if I’ve come back to work for a rest after it. Fun, but busy.
Week off
So a very busy week with much to catch up on. Have been off work but keeping very busy, feel utterly relaxed and ready to deal with everything that work is throwing up at the moment (which I will return to later).
Weekend 15/08/2008
Last week was ludicrously busy – to the point where Thurday turned into a nineteen hour work day. The building industry continues its downward spiral and we’re all pretty much clinging on for dear life. Things are getting interesting. Anyhow, weekends have become even more important as a result.
August
Feeling more chipper today – new month and all that – certainly a lot less introspective than I did yesterday. Long, long talk with Little Sister last night sort of put the world to rights (at least temporarily), plus feel that at least I know where I stand with something that’s been occupying a lot of my time recently, so even if I’m less than pleased with the outcome there is at least some relief in that I’m no longer pre-occupied with standing on eggshells all the time. Plus my major concern surrounding this whole affair has not materialised, a friendship has not been lost.
General Update
Okay, quite a bit to catch up on from last time so here goes.
My bike is trying to kill me…
Two attempts this week. First off I land funny off a series of steps on Monday, and (according to a friendly physiotherapist I know) have probably strained some lateral ligaments around the knee. Hurts like a bugger whenever I pivot on the right leg but other than that…
