Work: The Answer

Well today was D-Day – that is decision day for the Partners. Notifications were given today and…I’m not being made redundant.

There are eight redundancies in all, and another three early retirements. We’ve all been asked to take a pay cut in order to reduce overheads even further, but this will be on a temporary basis until things (hopefully) begin to recover, in exchange a number of us are under strict (well, joking) instructions to only work our contracted hours – I think this is their way of saying they’ve noticed what some of us have been doing. Once again the Southport office has been harder hit than the Manchester one, but we are losing B to early retirement – we’ll just have to make sure she gets a proper send off.

Thanks to everyone who’s dropped me messages of support, it’s been of real benefit. Whilst we aren’t out of the woods yet we do at least have a plan of what we need to do.
